Dameron Hospital | Health Outlook | Winter 2018

CEO Corner Dear friends and community members, As the new year progresses, we’ve been actively working to improve the health of our community. This issue of Health Outlook will give you insight on some of the exciting progress we are making as your community hospital. One of the most significant programs that we have launched recently is our new partnership with Stanford Health Care and the Stanford University School of Medicine. This program brings Stanford cardiothoracic surgeons to our community, where they practice full time at our hospital as members of our medical staff. This groundbreaking program combines world-class, university-level surgical expertise with Dameron’s excellent inpatient care, providing local residents with a heart and lung surgery program that is second to none. This new program perfectly complements our existing cardiac care services, which include a cardiac catheterization laboratory where we perform more than 2,200 procedures annually. The high level of cardiac care expertise and our excellent outcomes have led to our designation as a STEMI (heart attack) receiving center for San Joaquin County. Our cardiac care services also extend beyond emergency situations. We provide the latest solutions to help maintain quality of life for our patients with ongoing heart issues. For example, we now offer the latest technology in cardiac pacemakers—the Micra Transcatheter Pacing System, which is the world’s smallest pacemaker. This new minimally invasive approach helps patients with certain types of irregular heartbeats lead normal lives with fewer complication risks. Here at Dameron, our definition of improving the health of our community is helping you achieve the level of health you need to lead the life you want to lead. We want to provide you with the excellent care and service you need and deserve. I encourage you to ask your doctor about what Dameron Hospital can do for you! Yours in health, Lorraine P.
