DAMERON Hospital and the Dameron Hospital Foundation are not-for-profit organizations owned by the community, and they exist to improve health care in our area. Through its fundraising efforts, the foundation has helped hundreds of people in need of health care services and has funded advancements in Dameron Hospital’s facilities, technologies and programs. One of the foundation’s most successful fundraisers to date is the annual Dameron Golf & Tennis Classic . Playing for a cause since 1988 Rick Paulsen chaired the first Dameron Golf Classic back in 1988 at the Stockton Golf and Country Club. Five years later, the tournament moved to the new Brookside Country Club and a tennis tournament was added, chaired by Jeff Heiser. In the past 30 years, the combined event has raised over $4 million for medical equipment at Dameron Hospital. This year, the Golf Classic, chaired by Blake Eagal, will return to the Stockton Golf and Country Club on Monday, Sept. 30 . The Tennis Classic will play at the University of the Pacific Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center. There will be food and drinks, a raffle, and a silent auction, with a reception and awards ceremony after the events. This year’s proceeds will help to underwrite the $1.8 million cost of a permanent MRI facility at Dameron Hospital, creating class-leading diagnostic imaging right here in our community.
