Rashaad Chothia, MD Cardiologist-electrophysiologist Dr. Chothia is one of Dameron Hospital’s practicing cardiologists, specializing in cardiology, electrophysiology and internal medicine. Dr. Chothia received his medical degree at the Medical University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland, and his undergraduate degree in biology and computer science at the University of California in Riverside, California. He served his internal medicine residency at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, Kansas, and held his fellowship at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, where he concentrated in cardiology and clinical cardiology electrophysiology. He is board- certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease, clinical cardiac electrophysiology and internal medicine. Dr. Chothia’s professional interests include electronic cardiac device implantation and laser lead extraction, catheter ablation of heart rhythm disorders, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, and inherited cardiac arrhythmias. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American College of Cardiology. Billie-Jean Martin, MD, PhD, FRCSC Cardiac surgeon Brought on to support our growing Stanford Cardiac Surgery Program, Dr. Martin joins Dameron as one of our newest full-time practicing cardiothoracic surgeons. Apart from bringing many years of professional experience to Dameron, Dr. Martin has won numerous awards and distinctions in her field. Her specialties include coronary revascularization, valve replacement and repair, endocarditis, temporary mechanical support, TAVR, cardiac rehabilitation, and quality assessment and improvement. She received her medical degree at the University of Alberta in Alberta, Canada, and her PhD in cardiovascular sciences, obesity and cardiovascular disease at the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Dr. Martin served her cardiothoracic surgery residencies at the University of Calgary and Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada, and holds two fellowships in Congenital Cardiothoracic Surgery—one at the University of California in San Francisco, and the other at the University of Alberta. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) for Cardiac Surgery.
